We were once part of the The Court School of Dancing. This was a chain of Dance Schools owned by Courtenay Castle, a man before his time.
He bought learning to dance out of the elite arena and made it accessible to the general British public. Somewhere you didn’t need to take a partner and you could enjoy yourself learning to dance and mixing with like minded folks.
Strictly Come Dancing would have been something that he would have thoroughly endorsed and would perhaps have been ‘Len’.
His ethos of keeping things Fun, Friendly and Easy is still with our teaching today and that you don’t need a partner to start in a class is equally important.
